The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has delivered a series of lectures to participants in the Human Rights Research Fellowship Program, which was presented by a number of specialists in legal affairs and human rights in the NIHR Secretariat-General, during which they discussed historical development of the emergence of human rights and freedoms in the international system, the concept of right and freedom contained in the Constitution, the mechanisms concerned with the protection of human rights, and the international human rights instruments ratified or acceded by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The participants were trained on how to prepare reports and proposals on human rights, the mechanism for preparing scientific research in various human rights fields, and the mechanism of the work of the NIHR Call and Complaints Centre.

These lectures were attended by several local university students, job seekers registered within the "FORAS" program of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, and a number of graduates interested in the human rights issue.  They fall within the NIHR Strategy and Action Plan to spread a culture of human rights among various society groups in accordance with national and international standards.
