NIHR participates in the 29th annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF).

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the 29th annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF), represented by its Chairperson, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi. The meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand from September 24 to 25.

The meeting was inaugurated by Khunan Jargalsaikhan, the Acting Chairperson of the APF and the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia. He expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the national institutions in the Asia Pacific region for their attendance and participation. Subsequently, the forum's performance report for the period from June 2023 to June 2024, the gender objectives report in national institutions, and the financial report were reviewed and adopted, along with the accreditation ratings of the forum's members for this year.

During the conference, Alderazi presented on the human right to a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment. He explored the national legislative frameworks, legal systems, plans, strategies, and action programs related to key human rights topics. The presentation also covered the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, relevant government reports, and key issues related to environmental rights, including major challenges. Alderazi highlighted the role of the National Institution for Human Rights in promoting and protecting environmental rights.

The participation of the NIHR in the APF annual conference demonstrates its commitment to enhancing regional and international cooperation, effectively contributing to the exchange of expertise and best practices in the field of human rights. This involvement aids in developing the policies and procedures adopted by the institutions participating in the forum and enhances their quality.
