NIHR is inaugurating “Human Rights Research Fellowship Program”
In line with its keenness to contribute to the intellectual and research movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in pursuance of Article (12) of its Incorporation Law on performing research and studies, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has inaugurated “Human Rights Research Fellowship Program” for individuals who are willing to conduct independent research on civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
On this occasion, Chancellor / Yasser Ghanim, NIHR’s Secretary General, stated that the Research Fellowship Program will provide the necessary means for visiting researchers to contribute to scientific research related to human rights and will also create scientific cooperation to conduct scientific research, which will largely contribute to the promotion of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that this Program is the first of its kind in the region at the level of national human rights institutions.
The 2 to 12-week Research Fellowship Program targets the academics, university students, human rights defenders and all those interested in preparing research in human rights field. It aims to develop skills in critical thinking and analysis in the human rights area, support and develop innovation and creativity skills to find out the best ways to promote and protect human rights, strengthen partnership with international organizations and universities operating in the human rights area and exchange of expertise in this area.
