NIHR Meets Ambassador of Italy
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s chairperson Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul met at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District the Ambassador of Italy to Bahrain Mr. Domenico Bellato on the occasion of his appointment as a new ambassador of his country in the presence of members of the Council of Commissioners Mr. Fareed Ghazi, Dr. Hameed Hussein and Information and Communication Technology Director Mr. Fahad Al Mu’alla.
At the beginning of the meeting, NIHR’s chairperson welcomed the Ambassador of Italy and commended the strong and distinguished relations between the two countries reinforced by mutual cooperation in all fields. He reviewed the NIHR’s action strategy, aims and the role undertaken by the NIHR in the enhancement and protection of human rights amid the reform era of His Majesty the King, may God protect him, who strengthened the consolidation of human rights values and principles and the maintenance of freedom, through His Majesty’s support of human rights institutions including the NIHR.
On his part, the Ambassador of Italy commended the important role undertaken by the NIHR in field of the human rights in the Kingdom and emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between both countries in order to achieve the common goals.
The Ambassador of Italy’s visit included a tour of NIHR’s building halls, including the training center, NIHR’s library and complaints receiving office.
