Royal Court Minister receives NIHR eighth annual report
Commissioned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)'s President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, who presented to him the eighth annual report of the institution.
The minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the NIHR in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom in accordance with the human rights principles in the National Action Charter (NAC), the Constitution and relevant laws and legislation, in addition to international and regional instruments and treaties that Bahrain is part of.
The report highlighted the institution’s efforts and activities in protecting and promoting human rights in general, and its monitoring of the efforts made by the National Medical Team for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) based on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which contributed to promoting the health right and providing healthcare to citizens and residents alike, in addition to the advisory opinions submitted by NIHR to the constitutional authorities.
NIHR president extended his gratitude to His Majesty the King for his permanent patronage of human rights and his directives to exert more efforts to advance, protect and enhance the human rights system to meet expectations and enhance the Kingdom's position among the advanced countries in this field.
