National institution for human rights holding a consultative meeting with the Bahraini Women Union
In collaboration with Mrs. Ahlam Ahmad Rajab, President of the Bahraini Women Union, alongside several female members of the Federation's board of directors, and in the presence of several members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners, Eng. Ali Ahmed Al Derazi convened a meeting with the aim of enhancing collaboration with civil society organizations.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged perspectives on human rights issues broadly and women's rights specifically. They also explored avenues to strengthen cooperation through joint programs and activities aimed at promoting a human rights culture within society.
Furthermore, discussions encompassed the mechanism for collaborative action between the Foundation and the Federation in addressing complaints related to the rights of women and children. Proposals regarding laws and legislation that advance and safeguard women's rights, aligned with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and national laws consistent with international treaties ratified by Bahrain, were also deliberated.
The President of the Federation Board of Directors expressed appreciation for the National Institution for Human Rights' endeavors in supporting women, lauding the institution's constructive partnership with the Federation in pursuing shared objectives.
