NIHR’s Vice Chairperson Meets with the APF’s CEO
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Vice chairperson Mr. Abdullah Al-Derazi and Chairperson of Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Ms. Maria Khouri met the CEO of the Asia and Pacific Forum (APF) for National Human Rights Institutions Mr. Kern Fitzpatric on the sidelines of the APF’s 21st annual meeting held in Bangkok, capital of Thailand.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Kern congratulated the NIHR for being granted membership of the forum and wished it all success and progress. Then meeting then examined the capacity building programs held by the forum for raising capacities of national human rights institutions as well as various training programs tailor-made to their needs either for members of the Council of Commissioners or employees of the Secretariat-General.
On his part, the Vice- chairperson thanked the CEO and stressed the NIHR’s willingness to cooperate and make use of the programs held by the forum for member institutions. The meeting was attended by the NIHR’s Acting Secretary- General Mr. Yasser Shaheen.
