NIHR has trains 428 Individuals in the First Quarter of 2018
Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadel, Secretary-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), said that the NIHR Secretariat-General has trained 428 individuals during the first quarter of this year. This included various beneficiaries of the NIHR’s training programs such as law enforcement agencies, academics, advisory and trade union organizations, civil society organizations, youth, public and private university students, human rights defenders and private and commercial institutions.
Dr. Al-Fadel stressed that the NIHR’s recent programs have focused on international human rights mechanisms, guarantees of fair trials pursuant to national, international and comparative legislations, human rights and business administration, where the list of trainers included a number of international experts on public rights and freedoms, in particular trainers accredited by the Asia-Pacific Forum (APF) of national human rights institutions, as well as other experts and trainers.
Dr. Al-Fadel further stressed that attention to the national component in the training of the national cadres on the basic human rights principles is one of the NIHR’s priorities, in order to achieve the purposes contained in regional human rights mechanisms that promote the idea of cultural relativism in human rights in accordance with the best human rights practices.
