NIHR Participates in the International Conference on Restorative Criminal Justice

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by its Chairperson, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, participated in the International Conference on Restorative Criminal Justice, organized by the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The conference spanned two consecutive days and was attended by a select group of judicial, legal, and academic figures at both national and international levels.
During the conference, Alderazi delivered a presentation on the role of NIHR in empowering civil society and the private sector to enhance the success of the alternative sanctions program. He discussed the collaborative roles between the NIHR and civil society organizations, the institution's role in fostering these entities' efforts to improve the program's success, and the involvement of the private sector in these initiatives.
This conference represents a significant step forward in Bahrain's efforts to develop its criminal justice systems. It focused on exploring and evolving the concepts of restorative justice as innovative solutions to move beyond traditional punitive measures and promote human rights.
