NIHR Participates in the 2nd Meeting of the Joint Working Group between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the EU External Action Body
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by NIHR Vice chairperson Mr. Abdullah Al-Derazi, participated as part of the delegation of Kingdom of Bahrain in the 2nd meeting of the joint working group between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the EU External Action Body, headed by the MENA General Manager in Brussels Mr. Nicolas Westcott, following the first meeting that was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain during April 2016.
The joint working group covered issues of mutual interest, developed a framework for human rights in multi-relations area and discussed the developments in the human rights area in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union as well as mechanisms for activating cooperation between the two sides.
In his intervention, NIHR Vice chairperson touched upon the history of NIHR’s establishment and its role in protecting human rights and disseminating awareness and education of human rights means in Bahrain as per the terms of reference stipulated in its Establishment Law.
