NIHR Trains More than 3,000 Persons during 2022

Counsellor-at-Law Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, Secretary-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), affirmed that the NIHR gives priority to the training of national staff in various fields aimed at spreading the culture of human rights, in accordance with the innovative methods, best practices and international standards to achieve the goals and objectives stipulated in its Establishment Law.

MR. Shaheen stated that the NIHR’s Secretariat-General has trained more than 3,000 persons during the year 2022, by organising 80 events that varied between office-based and virtual (remotely), targeting various groups of society and ages, including - but not limited to - children and youth, members of the legislature, public officials, law enforcement officials, press and media workers, and civil society organisations.

The NIHR Secretary-General stated that the male participation rate amounted to (54%), while the female participation rate reached (46%), indicating that the NIHR is constantly working on preparing integrated programmes in cooperation with all parties related to the human rights and legal field, and that these programmes constitute the main gateway to promoting a culture of human rights for all segments of society.
