NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities Conducts a Field Visit to the Outpatient Clinic of Jidhafs Maternity Hospital
The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities has conducted a field visit to the Outpatient Clinic of Jidhafs Maternity Hospital, to closely monitor the conditions of clinic workers and patients and to learn about the services that are provided.
The visiting delegation met with officials at the clinics, who presented a brief of the efforts of Government hospitals in providing health and medical services to citizens and residents, and covering cases of gynecology, obstetrics, and newborns referred from health centres, as part of alleviating the increasing pressure on clinics affiliated with the Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The visiting delegation also made a field tour of the clinic’s facilities, to determine the availability of international standards in this regard, whether those related to humanitarian standards, security and safety. They listened to comments of the medical and administrative staff, and took notes from a number of the hospital’s patient visitors. They will prepare a comprehensive report, including all observations and recommendations, and send it to the competent authority.
