NIHR holds the first meeting of the joint working group with the participation of several representatives of civil society institutions.
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, the Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), held the first meeting of the joint working group with several representatives from civil society institutions active in the field of human rights at the Institution's headquarters in Seef, attended by members of the Board of Commissioners.
During the meeting, methods to improve cooperation between the NIHR and civil society institutions were discussed. This was to be achieved by forming a human rights working group and holding regular meetings to address challenges, find appropriate solutions, and exchange ideas. This would be facilitated by the Institution preparing a work mechanism and setting shared goals, which would be circulated to the working group members for their feedback.
It is worth mentioning that the idea of forming the joint working group arose from the Institution holding several forums and separate meetings with all civil society institutions, especially those working in the field of human rights. These meetings underscored the importance of consultations and the activation of cooperative efforts in an organized and effective manner between the Institution and civil society institutions to create a true partnership that contributes to enhancing human rights principles and advancing them in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
